Life can sometimes feel like a game of Chutes and Ladders—full of unexpected setbacks and triumphant climbs. But for the kids we serve, those “chutes” can be especially tough, and they need ladders of opportunity to keep climbing toward success.

For Jade, the Chutes of life are tough! Her family struggles to afford basic needs and Summer Camp was out of reach until Camp Fire showed up to her housing complex! With help from donors like you, Camp Fire was able to bring Jade and kids like her to Summer Camp each day for 5 weeks and allow them to forgo the chutes, and help climb the ladders gaining new perspectives, leadership skills, and a connection to nature through camp! Jade said, "My favorite thing about Camp Fire was learning how to swim in a pond, canoe, catching crawfish in the creek, and making new friends!" Jade's Mom said, "I never went to camp as a kid, but love seeing camp through Jade's eyes!"

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we’re asking you to make children your HIGHEST priority in 2025! With your support, we can help kids reach new heights, despite the challenges they face, by helping ensure they can climb the ladder of our treehouse at Misty Meadows; engaging in outdoor education programs, or Chute across our High Ropes Course at Camp Glen; developing team building, a growth mindset, and valuable leadership skills!

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Ladders of Opportunity: Your gift will provide essential resources to help fund the treehouse renovation project at Misty Meadows, making one of the treehouses a year-round outdoor classroom providing—education, mentorship, and support—that help kids keep climbing higher, one step at a time.
  • Chutes of Success: Every donation helps "chute" us to our goal, of repairing the high ropes course at Camp Glen, and helps us pull kids out of the “chutes” of hardship, like poverty, lack of access to education, disconnecting with technology, social/emotional challenges, and being okay with overcoming obstacles- all things obtained by youth and participants while partaking in the High Ropes course during summer camps and leadership programs!!
  • Preventing Setbacks: Provide the gift of opportunity to engage in Camp Fire Sandusky County programs all year long! Helping youth like Jade find her Spark, become a leader and prevent the everyday challenges youth face, allowing them to be a kid at Camp Fire! Your donation will allow programs and scholarships continue to grow so Camp Fire Sandusky County can continue to grow opportunities for youth to thrive at Camp Fire!

Want to Double your gift? Now through December 31st, or Board of Directors are dedicated to donate up to $14,000 in matching funds! Making your gift of $30- $60, your gift of 2 weeks of camp now 4 weeks of camp for a needy kid and their family, making your donation of $1000 now $2000 and helping us close the gap of $10,000 in funding to make the treehouse project a reality! That's right every dollar donated will be doubled until December 31st thanks to the commitment of Camp Fire Sandusky County's wonderful Board of Directors!

Time is running out to make an impact before the year ends and double your donation!

P.S. You can make an HIGHER impact all year long by committing to a monthly gift of $30! That's less than $1 a day, and would provide 2 weeks of scholarships to a child in need, assist in purchasing an element on the High Ropes Course at Camp Glen, or help fund 20 stem kits to be used in the renovation of the Misty Meadows treehouse; outdoor education classroom! Show kids like Jade you are commitment to Give the Gift of Camp Fire all year long!
